Understanding Problems in Men

Just about every man will have some sort of sexual problem during his lifetime – but not nearly enough of them will discuss them with their doctors, or even their partners.

Erectile dysfunction, or ED, is the condition in which a man is unable to get or maintain an erection, it has gained lots of attention over the years but many men suffer from equally troubling sexual problems. Many sexual problems occur at the same time as ED so it can be caused by other underlying health conditions. For example, cardiovascular issues can lead to sexual problems.

Sexual Problems May Signal Cardiovascular or Other Medical Issues

Men who experience a change in libido, premature ejaculation, or erectile dysfunction should visit a healthcare provider. Any issue that lasts for several months may be associated with a more serious medical issue that should be addressed immediately:

  • Premature ejaculation problems can develop from medication, nerve damage, or other direct urinary conditions.
  • A change in libido or erection can be associated with obesity or diabetes.
  • Low libido or erectile dysfunction may be related to a hormonal imbalance.
  • Problems with erection may be associated with cardiovascular diseases or prostate cancer.

The Link between Sexual Function and Mental Health

Mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, and other psychological illnesses can lead to many different types of sexual disorders. In this case, it is very important to begin the treatment of psychiatric illness before moving on to sexual function.

Sexual function caused by mental health issues is often resolved by addressing, managing, and alleviating anxiety and depression. Some of the therapies include mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, and relaxation techniques to help men get involved in sexual activity.

Medications for mental illness may cause sexual function changes as well. It is clear that sexual function is likely to improve when the mental illness is treated but the same medications can also cause sexual problems in men. However, you should not avoid the medication because of the potential side effects.

If you do experience sexual problems as a result of a mental illness medication, consult your doctor for alternative drugs that show fewer side effects.

It is Normal for Sexual Function to Decrease with Age

Some changes in sexual function, sexual drive, and performance are normal signs of aging. As men get older, they may need more time for foreplay or direct stimulation. If this isn’t enough to improve normal age-related changes in sexual function, sex therapy and medications like Cenforce 100, Cenforce Professional, Malegra 100, and Fildena Super Active can be very beneficial.

Here are six of the most common sex problems among men and what you can do about them.

  1. Erectile Dysfunction

If you have trouble in getting or maintaining a firm erection to have sexual intercourse, you may be suffering from erectile dysfunction (ED). Since erectile dysfunction occurs when there is not enough blood flowing to the penis to maintain an erection, the condition may be associated with other health, such as vascular disease, hypertension, thyroid imbalances, and diabetes. It can also be caused by psychological conditions, such as depression, anxiety, and stress. Though ED is more common among older men above the age of 50, it can happen at any age.

Solution: Visit a doctor to diagnose and rule out an underlying medical cause. There are a number of effective treatments for Erectile Dysfunction, including oral medications such as Tadarise 20 mg, Vidalista 60, and Fildena 50.

  1. Premature Ejaculation

If you ejaculate before or very soon after sexual activity, you could be having a condition known as premature ejaculation. While it usually happens to younger men who are just starting to explore a sexual relationship, it happens in men of all ages. In fact, it is one of the symptoms of future erectile dysfunction problems or underlying anxiety disorder.

Solution: Most men can learn to control premature ejaculation without medication or medical intervention. Some of the drugs for premature ejaculation are Tadalista, Super Fildena, Super Kamagra, and Super Vidalista. Meeting with a sex therapist can understand the problem and how you can resolve it.

  1. Delayed Ejaculation

Delayed ejaculation occurs when you have trouble having an orgasm during intercourse, or after prolonged sexual activity. It can be caused due to nerve damage or thyroid disease.

Solution: Treatment for delayed ejaculation can be approached in many ways. In most cases, working with a sex therapist can help solve the problem and allow you to have satisfactory sexual activity.

  1. Low Testosterone

Testosterone levels peak at puberty and begin to decline as men age. Even with this natural decline over time, most men produce enough testosterone to avoid sexual problems throughout their lives. If you are experiencing a lack of desire, erectile dysfunction, or have concerns about your testosterone level, a simple blood test will diagnose whether or not your testosterone levels are normal.

The solution: Taking testosterone supplements with a doctor’s prescription.

  1. Low Desire

While most men don’t want to share their problem, low sexual desire is a common concern among men. The disinterest in sex may arise from fear, anxiety, or stress-related to sexual problems. It can also be associated with relationship troubles or other psychological issues. Medical conditions, such as Parkinson’s disease, kidney disease, diabetes, depression, and the medications to treat these and other conditions can also interfere with desire, so it’s important to check in with your doctor.

Solution: If low desire in sex is cause by low testosterone, supplementing the hormone can be helpful. Depression is another condition that can cause low desire. Talk to your doctor and your partner to find out the problem and take action to correct it.

  1. Peyronie’s Disease

If your penis attains a curved erection that causes pain, you could have a rare condition called Peyronie’s disease. In such cases, you will observe a lump on the top or bottom of your penis.

Solution: Doctors can inject medication to remove the hard bumps. If this doesn’t work, the other option is surgery.

Sex is very important to health and well-being. If you are suffering from sexual problems, chances are, your partner is struggling, too. Be aware, that sexual difficulties can be a sign of serious underlying health conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, and depression.
